Life Without Black People

A very humorous and revealing story is told about a group of white people who were fed up with African Americans, so they joined together and wished themselves away. They passed through a deep dark tunnel and emerged in sort of a twilight zone where there is an America without black people.

At first these white people breathed a sigh of relief.

'At last', they said, 'no more crime, drugs, violence and welfare.'

All of the blacks have gone! Then suddenly, reality set in. The 'NEW AMERICA' is not America at all - only a barren land.
1. There are very few crops that have flourished because the nation was built on a slave-supported system.

2. There are no cities with tall skyscrapers because Alexander Mils, a black man, invented the elevator, and without it, one finds great difficulty reaching higher floors.

3. There are few if any cars because Richard Spikes, a black man, invented the automatic gearshift, Joseph Gambol, also black, invented the Super Charge System for Internal Combustion Engines, and Garrett A. Morgan, a black man,
invented the traffic signals.

4. Furthermore, one could not use the rapid transit system because its procurer was the electric trolley, which was invented by another black man, Albert R. Robinson.

5. Even if there were streets on which cars and a rapid transit system could operate, they were cluttered with paper because an African American, Charles Brooks, invented the street sweeper..

6. There were few if any newspapers, magazines and books because John Love invented the pencil sharpener, William Purveys invented the fountain pen, and Lee Barrage invented the Type Writing Machine and W. A. Love invented the
Advanced Printing Press. They were all, you guessed it, Black.

7. Even if Americans could write their letters, articles and books, they would not have been transported by mail because William Barry invented the Postmarking and Canceling Machine, William Purveys invented the Hand Stamp and Philip Downing invented the Letter Drop.

8. The lawns were brown and wilted because Joseph Smith invented the Lawn Sprinkler and John Burr the Lawn Mower.

9. When they entered their homes, they found them to be poorly ventilated and poorly heated. You see, Frederick Jones invented the Air Conditioner and Alice Parker the Heating Furnace. Their homes were also dim. But of course, Lewis
Lattimer later invented the Electric Lamp, Michael Harvey invented the lantern, and Granville T. Woods invented the Automatic Cut off Switch. Their homes were also filthy because Thomas W. Steward invented the Mop and Lloyd P. Ray the Dust Pan.

10. Their children met them at the door - barefooted, shabby, motley and unkempt.  But what could one expect? Jan E. Matzelinger invented the Shoe Lasting Machine, Walter Sammons invented the Comb, Sarah Boone invented the Ironing Board, and George T. Samon invented the Clothes Dryer.

11. Finally, they were resigned to at least have dinner amidst all of this turmoil. But here again, the food had spoiled because another Black Man, John Standard invented the refrigerator...

Now, isn't that something? What would this country be like without the contributions of Blacks, as African-Americans?

April 2020 in Nnewi, Two men living in the same yard killed themselves while fighting, in a bid to show how protective they were to their wives. They are currently lying in the mortuary probably to continue the fight in the afterworld. Let me burst your brain, the wives settled their differences after the death of their husbands and they are currently together, living peacefully as widows.
   
   May 2020 in Nnewi, while going to deliver my #21st Century paints and supervise a painting project, a couple on motorcycle collided with a Lexus 330 jeep which also had another couple inside.
   
   The bike man was at fault, but like typical bike men in this country, they are never wrong. As the couple in the jeep came down to ascertain the extent of the damages on their car. They received a packed load of insults from the other couple.

They ended with a popular annoying and provoking insult, ''Are you stupid?"

The man kept his cool all this while. His car was scratched a little, but he asked his wife to enter the car so they can keep going. His wife couldn't take it. She rained a hell of insult on those couple and finished up with her husband, telling him how foolish he is and how he is always a coward. Someone scratched your car and insulted you to cap it up and all you could tell me is ''enter the car let's go''. Can't you fight him? is he not your fellow man?

He still kept mute, while his wife entered the car after her rants. He quietly told his wife, didn't you hear what they ended with? they said, ''Are you stupid?'' That's not an insult, that's a question. You and I know the answer, I am not stupid and can never be stupid. While he said this, he turned on his ignition and zoomed off. The bike man and his wife wallowed in guilt back home because passersby actually gave it to them hot. Both families lived happily after.

Same city, same scenario, different reactions, different outcomes.

What point am I trying to make?
What happens to you in life doesn't matter, it is what you make out of it that matters. The attitude you give to issues determines whether your future will be bright or bleak.

Also, do not allow anyone to control your emotions and push you into doing things you do not want to do or to do things not morally right or to fight just to prove a point. Master your emotions, stay calm, try to overlook the things you are better than. It is not cowardice it is called being responsible.

Never you fight dirty with a pig, dirtiness is a pig's pleasure.
Never fight with a tout, he does not have any reputation to protect.

If you must live long and happy in life, always say no to that spirit that calls you a coward for being responsible.

*While heroes of war are remembered in their graves, Cowards takes over and enjoy their properties.*

 If you kill yourself all because you want to prove a point, people will bury you and continue the journey.

The doctor on duty who was awestruck picked up the result and looked at it over and over again for about 10 minutes, and said, “Sir, this is unbelievable! You have an incredible BP. Does it mean you don’t go through any stress at all? What’s the secret?”

The man smiled and said, “this has been your colleagues’ question overtime. I have always told them that it was a gift from God, which is correct in actual sense. But let me tell you what has been making that gift work.

I can’t wait to know the secret, the doctor interjected.

“When I was young, my father taught me that if I want to overcome negative S, I must embrace two positive S.

The doctor who was eager to know those S interrupted him again. What are the negative and positive S, Sir?

“The negative S includes: stress, sickness, sorrow, suffering, etc. My dad said, if I could manage stress, I won’t have much health challenge. I later discovered he was telling me the truth as I embraced his two positive S. The man paused.

I hope no problem, Sir? The doctor asked.

“No problem, doctor. I remembered my glorious dad of a blessed memory. He was a great man, doctor.

“The positive S  includes: Smile and Silence. Smile can solve problem and Silence can avoid problems. To achieve this, you must:

“Select the right people to travel with you in your journey of life at all times and make your life sweeter.

“On deity, choose the Almighty God. Thereafter, if you fail to achieve your dreams, change your ways, not your God. The trees change their leaves and not their roots.

“Stop looking Sideways when you are emotionally distracted. You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.

“Sayings of people should not work you up. Even when haters see you walking on water they will say it’s because you can't swim. If you like, dance on the water, they will accuse you of raising dust.

“Start to live a quiet life; mind your own business; and work with your own hands.

“Social cleanliness rule is, never wrestle with a pig. Though, both of you will get dirty, but the pig enjoys it.

“So, knowing all these, I always Smile and keep Silence. That’s the secret!”

“WOW! In my entire life I have never met a man like you. I want to see more of you. Now I know that greater lessons are learnt outside the classroom, the doctor concluded.

Let me tell you a story. An elderly woman I grew up to know trained all her kids to maturity and success. All of them became very successful and barely paid her regular visits. 

She has Consultant Physicians, Professors, Politicians, Bureaucrats and Captains of Industry amongst her seven children spread across great nations of the world. 

They waited till they were rich enough to give back to her sufficiently and they all contributed to buy her a saloon car on her 95th birthday. 

She barely rode in the car as her carer, who doubled as her make shift driver secured entry into the primordial privates of everything in skirts in the neighbourhood with the vehicle. She passed on at 96years. The children returned to renovate her apartment after her demise in preparation for her grand funeral. 

Friends, he who waits to do a great deal of good at once, will never do anything. Think of the quantum of investments your parents have made on you and give back to them on time. 

If you have ever spent on your child, you will appreciate your parents more. They sacrificed that we might have life and purpose... 

I remember it was my younger sister that began the idea of recharging our parents' mobile phone with N3,000 worth of airtime from the date she got married till date. It appeared so little, yet, simple gestures matter in the throes of intention and genuine appreciation... Whilst men like me would prefer to give a huge gift at once, someone started with what she could afford in trickles. Consistently too... 

If you look at the pyramid of growth, you will realise that you will never have enough to spare on your parents as family demands increase. You just have to decide and be responsible... 

Do not wait till your parents are old, unuseful to themselves and smitten with age before you give back and take good care of them. They are your responsibility at old age... 

There is nothing sweeter in all the world than reaping the fruits of your labour on your children... 

Do not wait till you are Billionaires before you let them taste of the good fortune that investing on you becomes. It is foolish to assume that a man does not deserve praises for raising his own children- not every parent was responsible for theirs. It could be worse. 

Of what use is an SUV to your aged parent at 90years? 

Of what nutritional value is a fattened bullock meat to a Grand mother in her 80s when her teeth is worn out and mouth tasteless? 

Do not wait till your parents are gone before you renovate their house and feed ten thousand unconcerned stranger mouths at their funeral? Do not lose your mum and your money...

If your parents had a cow a month, they would probably be alive...

Do the little you can whilst you can... I enjoin us all...

In any case- there is no prayer more potent and effective over your life like those of the parents who birthed you. Not even those of your Imamprenuers and Pastorpreneurs...

Earn their prayers with your gifts and presence. Take care of them and spend time with them...

Who told you your parents will even live till 80s or 90s when you plan to take care of them, even though we pray for longevity for them. Is tomorrow assured anyone? 

How are you sure you will even be ever rich enough to do the huge surprises at that future time with increased responsibilities? 

In this era where pensions are delayed and gratuities unpaid- will it not be applaudable if you place your parents on monthly stipends as upkeep? 

It is on this note that my siblings and I decided to contribute our token as monthly upkeeps for our parent.
