BREAKING NEWS:

THANK GOD THEY WERE NOT KIDNAPPERS!!!

They climbed over the fence and came into the house by lifting the burglary proof of the parlour window to let in one of their co-conspirators, who then opened the door and the gate to allow the other 3 into the house.

They came into the rooms and woke us up from deep sleep at 3:00am, haven gone to bed at about 1:00am, after watching the France vs Iceland game and the post match analysis.

They asked us to be quiet, threatening us with a double barrelled gun and matchetes, demanding for money and other valuables.

They made away with the little money my wife and I had on a Sunday evening and the children's savings in their Piggy Bank. The Piggy Bank was supposed to be opened at Christmas with half of the money therein, meant for the Motherless Babies Home.

Not satisfied with the money they had taken, they took phones, laptops, ipad, camera, jewellery and our ATM cards, forcing us to disclose our correct pins, else they'll kill the children, if the pins were found to be incorrect. Also forced us to give the codes/passwords for phones, laptops & ipad. All pleas by my wife to spare her laptop, because of her judgements therein, fell on deaf ears.

They tied up my wife and I and stabbed me on my right buttocks for refusing to be tied up. Luckily, the stab wound was not penetrating enough to cause so much bleeding.

Within an hour, they were gone with their loot, leaving us to wait for daybreak.

The morning began as usual with taking the children to school and going to bank to find out how much had been withdrawn with the ATM cards and blocking the cards.

Luckily the crazy Internet network over the weekend prevented them from making any withdrawals.

New ATM cards have been issued, new phones have been bought and phone lines have been recovered.

We thank family and friends who got to know somehow and called/visited to share in our pain and loss.

Above all, we thank God for our lives and are grateful they were not KIDNAPPERS.
