 RESOLUTIONS OF THE 2ND MEETING WITH HONOURABLE SPEAKER OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON NARD SUSPENDED STRIKE
The meeting took place in the Speaker's conference room at the National Assembly Complex on Thursday 14th of July, 2016.  After extensive deliberations the following resolutions were reached :
1.  On residency training template, the report of Residency Training Programme Committee is expected in the next 24 hours.  The federal ministry of health is to study the draft, adopt and circulate it for implementation by the tertiary institutions.
2. On unjustifiably sacked NARD members,  NARD leadership is to submit list of sacked Residents to the House Committee on Health Institutions and Federal Ministry of Health immediately for necessary actions.
3.On state Doctors' and other Health Workers' unpaid salaries,  Mr. Speaker stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has agreed to provide intervention funds on health to state governments after meeting necessary conditions.
4. On entry point for House Officers it was agreed that equivalent of basic salary of CONHESS 9/4 should be the entry point for House Officers and notice will soon be circulated.
5. On enrolment of all doctors on IPPIS, Mr Speaker has already contacted the chairman and the preparation is in progress.
6. On skipping it was agreed that those implementing should continue and those who have funds and are not implementing should commence and those who actually do not have funds, the ministry of health is to verify and report back to the Speaker within one week.
6. Mr. Speaker stated that anti graft agencies are in receipt of petitions concerning computed  arrears of relativity and skipping. It was agreed that there is need for forensic audit of staff in tertiary institutions by EFCC and this will commencing soon.
7. Finally, the NMA President Dr. Mike O. Ogirima wishes to thank the Hon Speaker and also congratulated him on the commendation he received from WHO for the intervention to resolve the strike impasse. Mr. President also extends his appreciation to Chaiman and members of house committee on health institutions,  Hon Minister of health, all the stakeholders and entire Nigerian doctors for the sincere and purposeful deliberations at the meeting.
